I hope all is well this week and everyone enjoyed the shiitakes last week. We are in a great swing to Fall, although our Summer crops don’t prefer these cool nights.
Be on the look-out for our final farm dinner this year to benefit Community Farmers’ Markets, our market organization that manages the EAV and Grant Park Farmers markets. Partner chefs will include Rian Tittle of the Brick Store Pub, Terry Koval of Wrecking Bar, and Eric Ottensmeyer of Leon’s Full Service. The tentative title for the dinner is “Wild in the Streets.” More details to come soon.
For meat share holders, my apologies for the sporadic distribution this session. Our pork sausage distribution has been postponed until the pork-chop delivery as it was last session. Evie’s Country Garden apologizes for the delay.
Our next meat share delivery will be whole, pastured chickens from White Oak Pastures. These birds will be distributed on October 10, one week later than planned. Anyone can order extra chickens by emailing the number of birds desired. We have a limited number of extra birds, around 10 total. Whole chickens will be $15.00 each. Each meat share will receive on whole bird with their share.
